HOW DOES THE SITE WORK?

This site has been developed for people interested in swapping their bags with others. Basically you put your bag on this site for all users to see. Once your bag has been listed you are then free to contact the owners of all the other bags listed and suggest a swap.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST AND HOW DO I PAY?

Each listing costs just £1.00 and all payments are accepted through PAYPAL. There are no registration costs but the £1.00 fee applies for each and every bag you list.

I DON’T HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT

If you have a credit or debit card you don’t need a PAYPAL account to make a payment through PAYPAL.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER TO USE THE SITE?

All visitors can view both the selection of bags listed and the forum without the need to register. However to contact an owner or swap a bag you must have your own bag listed, which requires registration. You will also need to register in order to actively use the forum. Registration is completely free the only cost involved is in listing your bags.

DO I NEED TO RE-REGISTER AFTER EACH SWAP?

No, you only need to register once. However once you have completed a swap, unless you have another bag listed, your user status will be restricted and your access to the bag listings will revert to viewing only.

WHAT HAPPENS WITH MY DETAILS IF I REGISTER?

Foremost we require your details in case we need to contact you. We will also use your details to help us recognise primary users of this site in terms of gender, age groups and location. We will only use this information in order to improve our site. Please note that your name and email will be passed to potential swappers in order to facilitate the swap. In addition, the address you used to register will be passed to your swap buddy automatically by e-mail once a swap has been agreed. Please be assured that all the information you supply will be kept securely and WILL NOT be passed to third parties. We do however reserve the right to pass your details to the Police where fraudulent activity is suspected

WHY DO I NEED A USER NAME?

This is for your own privacy, if you don’t want to use your own name.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT IN USING THIS SITE?

Yes, you must be 18 or over to register on this site. If you are under 18 years old you may wish to ask a parent or responsible adult to complete a swap for you under the normal terms and conditions of this site.

CAN I ONLY LIST A DESIGNER BAG?

All bags are welcome, the point is that you can start with something basic and have the opportunity to upgrade using a swapping strategy over a period of time.

CAN I LIST MORE THAN ONE BAG AT A TIME?

Yes, you can list as many bags as you like at any one time but you will need to list each bag separately and pay £1.00 per bag.

CAN I SWAP 2 OR MORE FOR ONE?

Yes, although all bags must be listed separately you may agree to swap 2 or more bags for one, for instance you could swap three mulberry bags for one Dolce & Gabbana. If additional bags are swapped, you will need to manually delete their listing from this website.

DO I POST MY BAG TO YOU ONCE I’VE AGREED A SWAP?

NO, it is your responsibility to post your bag directly to the person you are swapping with. Please note that the address you used to register will be passed to your swap buddy automatically by e-mail once a swap has been agreed. If you want your bag sent to an alternative address, you must make this clear to your swap buddy by e-mail. PLEASE READ OUR SWAPPING GUIDE for helpful suggestions for a safe and happy swap.

HOW SHOULD I POST MY BAG?

As per the recommendations in our ‘SWAPPING GUIDE’ we suggest that you post your bags via Special Delivery or any other method that allows tracking. You may wish to exchange your bags in person but please take every precaution if using this method.

WHAT IF I LIST MY BAG, THEN, CHANGE MY MIND?

If you have listed a bag but then change your mind simply delete your listing from your bag profile. Please note your listing fee will NOT be refunded. If you choose to re-list your bag at a later date, the listing will be subject to the £1.00 listing fee.

HOW DO I CONTACT THE OWNER OF A BAG?

In order for you to contact a bag owner you must first suggest a swap. Suggesting a swap enables the exchange of e-mail addresses between you and the bag owner, whereby you can ask questions about each others bags. You will then be given the option of Accepting or Declining the swap.

AT WHAT POINT IS THE AGREEMENT FINALISED?

Once BOTH parties have pressed the ‘Accept Swap’ button the agreement is finalised. Your bag is then removed as a listing on this site. It is important to be 100% sure before you press this button.

WHAT IF THE AGREEMENT IS FINALISED, THEN EITHER PARTY CHANGES THEIR MIND?

Unless BOTH PARTIES have pressed the ‘agree swap’ button, the agreement is not finalised. Unfortunately even if the agreement has been finalised we cannot make customers swap their bag. If either party reneges on the agreement without good reason they will be banned from this site! Their details will be recorded on our ‘name and shame’ section, their listing will be removed and NO refund will be given.

WHAT IF I AGREE A SWAP BUT WE BOTH CHANGE OUR MINDS?

If the agreement has NOT been ‘finalised’ all you need to do is notify the other party to say you’ve changed your mind. You can then continue your search for a swap. If however the agreement HAS been ‘finalised’ and BOTH parties change their minds the agreement can be terminated. If a swap has already taken place make an agreement as to who will pay the postage costs to return the bags. PLEASE NOTE: If you terminate the agreement AFTER it has been finalised, irrespective of whether the exchange has taken place, your bag will be removed as a listing on this site. Re-listing your bag will be subject to a further charge of £1.00. This policy has been adopted to deter ‘bag gazumping’.

WHAT IF I DON’T RECEIVE THE BAG AFTER AN AGREED SWAP?

Contact the owner of the bag, tell them you have not received their bag and confirm whether it has been sent. In the event of any dispute please contact us immediately. We will mediate in any disagreement and every effort will be made to resolve any dispute. As this site is built on trust, unfortunately we cannot except responsibility for bags not received or make the other party swap back after the exchange. Please ensure that you read the Swapping Guide before agreeing to a swap.

I SWAPPED A BAG BUT AM UNHAPPY WITH THE BAG I RECEIVED

Why are you unhappy? If the bag is not as described or is a copy, see below. If however you find that you just don’t like the bag then we would ask for you to be reasonable. You shouldn’t expect the other party to swap back on unreasonable grounds. You may wish to contact the owner to suggest that you swap back, if they agree, perhaps you should pay ALL postage costs. Alternatively you could consider listing the bag for £1.00 to swap for something more suitable.

THE BAG I RECEIVED IS NOT AS DESCRIBED

We will endeavour to sort out any deliberate attempts of deceit and will mediate between the two parties to do what we can to help. However please take every precaution before agreeing to a swap as disputes arising due to dishonest customers may be hard to rectify after the event. Remember we cannot make other users swap back after an exchange. Anyone found to be deliberately abusing this site will be ‘named and shamed’ and banned from the site!

COUNTERFEIT BAGS

There can be confusion over counterfeit bags. Often referred to as copies, replicas, seconds or fakes, they all mean the same thing. Trademarks are names or symbols used by manufacturers to distinguish their products from those of their competitors, for example, Next, Chloe and Mulberry. Most companies will register their trademark which becomes legally protected. Basically it is against the law to apply a registered trademark or anything likely to be mistaken for it, to any bag without permission from the owner. Whether or not the product is an exact copy is irrelevant.

It is however, common practice for many High Street Chains to manufacture bags in a ‘similar’ design to popular ‘High End’ Designer bags. In these cases the bag should clearly show their own trademark rather than the trademark of the ‘similar’ design. UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE! If you are in any doubt contact us for advice before listing your bag.

THE BAG I RECEIVED IS A COPY

If you know or suspect that the bag you have received is a copy, please contact us immediately. We will do all we can to rectify the problem. Please remember that we cannot accept any responsibility for the bag you receive and we are unable to make users swap back after an exchange has been made, although we will try our best. If appropriate we will report users swapping counterfeit bags to the relevant authorities. Where appropriate we will support you in any legal action you wish to take against them.

WHAT IF THE BAG I RECEIVED HAS BEEN DAMAGED IN THE POST?

As per our ‘SWAPPING GUIDE’ we recommend all bags are posted by Special Delivery (or any other method that allows tracking). All items posted via this method should be covered by insurance. Please verify the insurance payout with the Post Office or Delivery Company when posting your item and ensure it covers the cost of the bag. Please direct any queries or claims to them in the event of bags being damaged in the post. If the bag you receive has been damaged in transit please notify your ‘swap buddy’ immediately as they will need to pursue the claim with Royal Mail or the appropriate delivery company. We recommend that you either swap the bags back and your ‘swap buddy’ keeps the insurance payout OR you keep the bag and your ‘swap buddy’ sends you the insurance payout.

WHAT IF I RECEIVE THE WRONG BAG?

If you have more than one bag listed on this site, please ensure you send the correct bag to the appropriate ‘swap buddy’. If you receive the wrong bag please notify your ‘swap buddy’ immediately. If you send the wrong bag we strongly recommend that you agree to cover all postage costs to rectify the problem.

WHAT IF I CAN’T CONTACT THE OTHER PARTY IF THERE’S A PROBLEM?

Please contact us immediately. We will do everything we can to resolve the issue. However as previously stated we cannot accept any responsibility for bags sent but not received. This site is built on trust so please do not ruin this site for other users by being dishonest!

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE A COMPLAINT?

Please e-mail us any complaints via our contact us page. We will fully investigate any disputes. We may suggest reversing a swap if we feel it is appropriate however we can-not make customers swap back once an exchange has been made. If we feel any party has been dishonest or unreasonable we will not hesitate to ban them from the site and post their name on our ‘name and shame’ section. We reserve the right to pass your details to the Police where fraudulent activity is suspected.
